In 2021, personnel expenses rose chiefly on account of higher expenses for short-term variable compensation as part of the Group’s Covestro (Covestro PSP) and the increased number of employees resulting from the acquisition of the Resins & Functional Materials (RFM) business from Koninklijke DSM N.V., Heerlen (Netherlands), on April 1, 2021.

PSP/Profit Sharing Plan
Covestro PSP is the Group’s short-term variable compensation system. It is based exclusively on the target attainment of the relevant Covestro performance indicators (core volume growth, FOCF, ROCE).
